When last CHS stepped into Happy Endings when it first opened this spring, we called the vintage shop a “new place to shop for old things on East Madison.” Now after a business overhaul, its owners have created an “Urban Mercantile Exchange” —
What makes a home? Is it the chair you sit in? The light you read by? The artwork you cherish? The friend in your lap that you love and his favorite treat? These are things that define your home and give it a soul.
Enjoy perusing our fresh handpicked selection of vintage furnishings, unique decor, and cool “flea market finds”. Come meet our monthly guest vendors for interesting local fashion, artwork, & home goods. For the dogs & cats in your life we proudly offer a healthy variety of foods, supplements and treats including plenty of other basic needs like litter, pick up bags, cleansers, not to mention one of a kind beds, dishes and other pet paraphernalia.
Enriching ones life and having fun extends beyond shopping! Visit anytime to covet our incredible personal art collection or attend a calendar of gatherings we plan to host ranging from basic DYI home projects, sewing cliques, board game get-togethers, movie nights, puppy classes, pet adoption days, product promotions, discussion groups, fun charity events and so much more. Set sail…It all awaits on the horizon.
Happy Endings Urban Mercantile…”welcome home”
See you soon,Peggy & David
p.s. Did we mention we have plenty of convenient free parking?
Owner Peggy Curtis has roots in the Seattle rock scene and is a part owner of Via Tribunali.
Happy endings is open 9a-9p Sunday through Thursday and 9a-10p on Friday and Saturday. You can find out more at happyendingsarereal.com.
The dog and cat grocery isn’t the only new pet-related business in the neighborhood. Rex, a do it yourself grooming and “dog centric venue” is slated to open soon in the Trace building next to High 5 Pie. Both High 5 and Rex are CHS advertisers, by the way.
Are they finally going to lay off the pictures of Jesus in the front window?
Outward religious ties = no money for you.
It’s a vintage store and many, many people collect those campy religious images…doesn’t mean the store is “religious” or pushing an agenda.
I’m the biggest agnostic in town, and my walls are covered with images of Jesus, the Holy Family and the Last Supper. Doesn’t mean I go to church or bang the Bible.
Good statements on what brings a house to life, and makes it a home! Our space defines who we are, whether we acknowledge it or not, and our best four legged friends share that space!
“How much is that Jesus in the window”? Woof Woof!
So “So’, does this mean when you’re sittin’ in church and the collection basket is passed to you, you don’t put no money in? You’re going to Hell!
Haha, I’ve never been to church in my life. Did you really expect anything else?
It’s DIY, not DYI.
… we sell crap with pretentious marketing!
Thanks for the human generated auto-correct. Funny, I’ve read our “pretentious marketing” (LOL) several times and never noticed. Cheers!
hmmmm…stopped in……not much in pet supplies. David? Arrogant. I think I’ll keep shopping at The Feed Bag.
