Capitol Hill wine bar Poco finds new owners in-house

We’ll have the house red. After announcing their intention to sell their E Pine wine bar this summer, Poco owners Bart Reynolds and Peter Moore found their buyers close at hand. At a party celebrating Poco’s 5th anniversary, Reynolds and Moore introduced the new owners — current Poco general manager Rick Jones and his partners Jonathan Nelson and Aaron Tebrink.

The deal marks the end of a three-month search for new owners to take over the wine bar space in the Braeburn building as Reynolds and Moore said they were ready to move away from Seattle on to new ventures (CORRECTED — see note in comments). Zephyr Paaquette had been kicking the tires of the bar but ultimately decided to start her Skelly and the Bean venture on 10th Ave E.

It’s not the only deal we’ve reported on around this stretch of E Pine lately. Across the street, construction is starting up on the Cameo Apartments building after the development project was purchased for $3.7 million. Terms of the Poco deal were no released — we’re assuming the sale fell a little short of the Cameo acquisition.

We’ll follow up with the new owners to find out more about their plans soon. In the meantime, you can learn more at pocowineroom.com.

Hey Justin, Thanks for the story about our party last night.
One correction though: Peter and I aren’t moving away from Seattle! We love Capitol Hill… it’s our home sweet home. And in any event, Peter’s staying on at Poco in the role of wine director, and we expect to the huge regulars there. After five years, we’re just as in love with our little wine bar as ever.

Sorry for the mistake. I misunderstood a conversation some time back and made an incorrect note about the situation. Corrected above.
