SPD responds to reported armed hold-up of Capitol Hill Zaw takeout pizza — UPDATE: Arrest

SPD swarmed 15th and Pine Monday evening after a reported armed robbery at Zaw Pizza.

All details at this point are extremely preliminary and have not been confirmed with SPD. A witness at the scene said the robber apparently entered the store, threatened that he had a weapon and stole bottles of wine. It appears the robber was able to flee the scene before SPD’s arrival.

SPD was inside the store interviewing employees and documenting evidences as a handful of customers waited outside for their pizza orders.

We don’t have a suspect description at this time but a witness said he appeared to be “a drunk guy.”

  1. Saw the accident on Olive Street, I live in the Onyx. He was going north on 11th and took a high speed turn onto Olive Street and slammed into a car parked on the north side of the street.

He put it in reverse, and fled the scene…leaving behind the bumper (and license plate). Later, a bystander said that the police got the guy after he dumped the car and fled on foot. Apparently the car was stolen.
