Happy 7th of July, Capitol Hill! 2012 Cal Anderson Independence Day is a Stranger affair

Capitol Hill’s only newspaperTM is playing party maker in 2012, organizing the 10th annual Cal Anderson Independence Day picnic. And, in true Stranger fashion, it’s on the wrong day. But that’s OK. The party also looks to be one of the bigger efforts around the annual picnic with the injection of a little bit more intense rock-n-rolling thanks to the Capitol Hill Block Party.

Details on the Cal Anderson Park Alliance Saturday, July 7th shin-dig including bouncy action, pie eating contests, wedding cake photos, a kids parade and a (G-rated!) splash dance, are below. If you’d like to volunteer, you’ll find that information, too. Want fireworks on the actual 4th of July? Stay tuned. We’ll have more about the pyrotechnical end of things soon.
