Broadway gas station employee plays it cool during gunpoint beer robbery

For the CHS commenters who greet every crime post with threats of moving off the Hill and complaints at how tired they are of this kind of shit, we introduce you to the cashier at the 76 Station at E Roy and Broadway. Gunpoint robbery? Hey, I’m busy here.

According to police, officers were flagged down Wednesday afternoon around 3:30p by the cashier who proceeded to tell them he had been robbed by a pistol packing thief inside his Broadway at Roy quick mart — the day before. According to the victim, he was too busy with customers after the hold-up to call police.

A review of surveillance footage corroborated the cashier’s story.

On Tuesday night just before 9p, the cashier said a man entered the store, approached the counter and brandished a black, semi-automatic pistol. The bandit demanded the cashier open the register but he refused. The armed suspect then walked to the back of the store and removed a pack of beer from the cooler before fleeing from the gas station on 10th Ave E. In the video, the suspect appears to be Asian, around 5’4″, with a slim build. No clothing description was included in the report.

Police are hoping to collect the video for evidence. An attempt to remove useful prints from the beer case a day after the hold-up was not successful.

There’s no reason to bother reporting the robbery if he didn’t do it right away. Wow, I know the store was busy, but anybody IN the store or in front of it is a potential witness.

Sheesh! Glad nobody got hurt!

…somebody is so desperate for beer that they’d use a semiautomatic weapon to steal it. Good grief.
