New shoes help Pike/Pine bar manager ID regular suspected of burglary

Surveillance video — and a new pair of shoes — has apparently helped police nail a regular who decided to burglarize his favorite Pike/Pine bar.

According to the report on the incident, the manager of a “tavern” in the 900 block of E Pike returned to work Tuesday night to find several items missing including a laptop, two bottles of $10 rum and an electric guitar.

The manager also quickly recognized who the culprit was after a review of the bar’s security video turned up some familiar feet:

According to a related SPD report, the suspect was arrested on a warrant at a location on E Seneca on Wednesday. We’ll have more when charges are filed in the case.
