Have there been 3-4 in the last month or so?

Lately while walking on the hill I’ve noticed an awful lot of stop sign running, speeding while passing in the center turn lane, flooring it to make a light.

Can’t remember the last time I saw anyone pulled over on the hill.

He had clipped a car that was parked on the street so he was trying to swerve back the other way and did it a little too tight. I watched the whole thing from my window since it was right out side. His sobriety test did not go well.

Yesterday while sitting at Insomniax coffee I witnessed a bicycle car collision at the same corner. Grandmas great grandma in a large sedan was making a left onto 15th and flattened a cyclist headed east on Denny. She hit him so hard that the tires on the bike blew up making a loud pop. Surprisingly enough the cyclist was able to get up and walk to the sidewalk. He seemed to be in shock but not seriously hurt. I have seen many many near misses there with both cyclists and pedestrians. You take your life in your hands when you walk by Group Health’s parking garage on Denny. They come roaring out of there and don’t even look. I am guessing most of them live in the ‘burbs where evryone drives. It is a dangerous corner for sure! I personally would NEVER ride a bike in this city as the drivers might possibly be some of the worlds worst!

Yes, and you can add to the list that many drivers do not use their turn signals….I guess they think it’s just too much trouble.

I haven’t seen anyone pulled over by the SPD either, for a long time. Maybe they need to increase their surveillance of illegal driving on Capitol Hill, because there is an awful lot of it!

Yes! I saw the aftermath of rollover crashes at 16th & Thomas and 19th & Thomas in the last month or so. I don’t understand how people can be going fast enough to flip a car on those neighborhood streets, but it’s not good. Drive carefully, people, and watch out for peds and bikers (and other cars), please.
