Victim says he met man who robbed him through Scruff gay social media app

The victim of a gunpoint robbery in a Central District parking lot says he was held-up Tuesday afternoon by a man he met at 13th and Pine using Scruff, “a social gay app for gay, bi, or curious scruff guys.” 

According to the SPD report on the incident, below, police were called to the area of the E James parking lot just after 12 PM Tuesday and found the victim but no sign of the suspect’s white Malibu.


The victim did not provide further description of the car or the man who robbed him, police say.

Please have the presence of mind to get a license plate number. It says the crime happened around noon and that the car drove off right in front of him. It’s amazing how many crimes involving cars are reported of on this blog and the victim didn’t get the plate number.
