Floor by floor look at tenants as construction of super-green Bullitt Center wraps up

In January, CHS told you how you, too, could have a desk inside the ultra-green Bullitt Center at 15th and Madison as the plans were announced for a coworking area inside the six-story, environmentally-focused facility. This week, as construction on the project wraps up some 18 months after its August, 2011 groundbreaking, the first details on the building’s launch set of tenants have emerged as its Earth Day opening ceremony nears.

Inside this Seattle Times report on the facility’s staunchly green requirements for tenants are details on two more businesses and organizations that will join the Bullitt Foundation and the University of Washington Integrated Design Lab that we have already reported on. Here’s how the tenant list is shaping up:

  • First floor: UW Integrated Design Lab
  • Second floor: Design Lab has part of the floor — the rest remains available.
  • Third floor: Open!
  • Fourth floor: “40 dedicated workstations in individual and small cluster arrangements — 12 and 24 month leases.  Rates are $650-750/month all inclusive.  No additional fees.” According to the Times, the first announced tenant will be video-production company Interchange Media Art Productions, currently roosting above Bluebird on E Pike.
  • Fifth floor: Currently located in Fisher Plaza in the shadow of the Space Needle, Intentional Futures, “a product envisioning, design and engineering studio,” will lease the entire fifth floor.

The asking price for the rest of the facility is $28 to $30 per square foot per year for them plus fees.

Meanwhile, work in front of the building connecting McGilvra Park with the Bullitt project is underway and is planned to be completed in time for opening ceremonies on April 22nd.

This week, you’ll begin to see the first activity inside as the the super-green showcase building will host its first major event.

this really is an amazing building – one of a kind. I would urge anyone that can go tour this to do so!

Me too. The outside decks were awesome especially in the summer. There’s no place left like the original that I’ve ever come across.

Nice space, but $650 to $750 per month is expensive for a desk. Agnes Underground is $300, and Office Nomads is $495.
