Capitol Hill will again host children from across central Seattle neighborhoods for a spring egg hunt in Cal Anderson Park to celebrate Easter weekend — which arrives shockingly early in 2013.
CHS was there in 2012 as Seattle Parks organized the first combined hunt for neighborhoods around Capitol Hill and the Central District touted as “the greatest egg hunt ever.”
2013’s event takes place in two weeks — pace your warm-ups, kids, for Saturday, March 30th:
The Great Cal Anderson Egg Hunt of 2013
Saturday, March 30th
10a-12p
Ages: 1-12
Join in the fun as the Central community centers join forces to host the greatest egg hunt Seattle has ever seen! Featuring face painting, a jump toy, DJ, and more! The egg hunt begins at 10:14am SHARP. Everyone can join in the parade between the south and north egg hunts. Donations are gladly accepted :)
If you are interested in volunteering or donating some awesome local Capitol Hill prizes for the kids, call parks at (206) 684-4075.
Meanwhile, little ones 5 and under can get in some pre-game practice with a Parks “Mighty Mites” egg hunt on Thursday, March 28th at 10a at the Miller Community Center.
As for big kid egg hunts, keep your eyes peeled.
Get there early, kids, if you want any booty. The hubby and I showed up at about 10:15 last year for some photo ops, and there was nothing left but empty shells, confetti, and broken dreams.
it would be awesome if folks limited the number of eggs they let their kids find so that there would be more to go around.
