Or maybe less . Depends on if there is any overlap between what plays at the Harvard Exit and the Egyptian during the festival that starts with a big gala Thursday. We didn’t check.
So let’s just say 144 screenings. That’s a lot. Snoqualmie Casino, for example, will feature only one film.
Here’s what is playing on Capitol Hill as part of SIFF 2013. Happy film festivaling.
- The Egyptian — 71 films — Kicks off with: The Horde
Power rules in this exciting and bloody historical epic set in 14th-century Eurasia, the time when the Golden Horde ruled Russia and Central Asia.
- Harvard Exit — 73 films — Kicks off with: Stories We Tell
Acclaimed actress and Academy Award nominated writer-director Sarah Polley comes from a family of storytellers.
The festival also features plenty of local work and talent — including Joey Johnson’s Shadowed:
I am the writer/director of the feature film ‘Shadowed’, which was shot in part at Moe Bar, the Annex, and at the Twilight Exit, and will be screening at the Seattle International Film Festival on May 28th and 29th.The cast and crew is all local, and we’re expecting a big turnout for the May 28th evening screening.
