A festival of foolish proportions will hit Volunteer Park August 4, as news advocates Real Change hook up a vaudeville-inspired time for those young and old.

Foolfest will juggle open at 3:30 pm Sunday with the afternoon’s activities including performer led workshops with box making miming to hip-swaying hula hooping, as well as juggling, and magic tricks. Set up as a potluck picnic, plenty of blankets will be strewn for you to relax and grub.

The Real Change event page has a sign up food list for you to see what is needed. Remember to bring some water and stay hydrated as after an hour of performance training and eating, you’ll likely be one tuckered out park goer. If you’re unsure what is needed for a performance led afternoon in the park, Real Change has suggestions, and it includes silly hats:

What to Bring:

Meanwhile, the Shintoho Schlock: Girls, Guns, and Ghosts film series runs Friday August 2nd through Friday, August 9 at Northwest Film Forum. The series features gems from the Golden Age of Japan cinema such as Revenge of the Pearl Queen (Fri), Flesh Pier (Sat – Sun), Ghost Cat of Otama Pond (Mon-Tue), Death Row Woman (Wed-Th), and more.
