With only a few wires down and sparking here and there (no worries!), Capitol Hill made it through a blustery, “wettest Seattle September day ever recorded” Saturday mostly unscathed and with its electricity grid providing service through the day even as around 20,000 customers lost power across the city.

The National Weather Service says you can expect more of the same Sunday:

  • Today Rain. High near 59. Breezy, with a south wind 21 to 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

  • Tonight Showers, mainly before 11pm. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 50. Windy, with a south southwest wind 25 to 33 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

  • Monday Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 18 to 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
