• Group purse rip-off at Bellevue/Olive St: A friendly neighbor noticed the victim crying and came to her aid after a scary October 13th purse rip-off at Bellevue and E Olive St:
  The victim told police she asked her assailants if she could keep her ID at which point the group rifled through her belongings and handed back only the empty wallet and purse. As the group left, the first suspect returned and told the victim they had her ID and would come to her house and shoot her if she said anything about the crime. The victim told police she was terrified and began to cry as the suspect fled. The unknown person who found the woman after the robbery walked her home so she could call police. • Would-be necklace thieves beat wrong person: A man with a tattoo teardrop avoided a beating but a person mistaken for him got beat up and his necklace busted in a case of mistaken identity gone horribly wrong at Harvard and Pike. Here’s the report on the Monday 1:20 PM incident from SPD:
• SPD nabs beer-chucking shoplift suspect: An extremely unlucky alleged shoplifter found himself in custody after using cases of beers as weapons in his attempt to escape the Harvard Market QFC with sandwiches and the booze he reportedly did not pay for. Here’s the report on the October 10th afternoon incident — complete with the suspect’s unfortunate walk past the East Precinct:
• Summit Ave E knock-out mugging: A man told police he was struck and knocked out in a mugging in the 200 block of Summit Ave E around 10 PM on October 4th. The victim said he did not need medical attention the night of the robbery and declined it again when police took his report on a follow-up four days later. According to the victim, his attackers worked as a pair with one man approaching the victim to ask for a light for his cigarette. The victim said he reached into his pocket for a lighter and the next thing he knew, he came to on the sidewalk with a bump on the back of his head. The victim said he walked home and didn’t realize his wallet was missing until “some time” later.
• 9th/Pine alley mugging: The victim in an early morning October 11th mugging told police he was walking through the alley west of the Paramount Theater when he was knocked out from behind by a blow to the head. When the victim came to, he told police he was missing his wallet, cash, and his phone. The victim was extremely intoxicated, according to police, and had reportedly just checked out of a nearby hotel.
• Not guilty plea in DUI: A 62-year-old Capitol Hill man busted twice previously for driving under the influence faces DUI and license suspension charges after he was stopped in the 1600 block of 11th Ave Wednesday night around 9 PM. According to city court records, John Nyquist has pleaded not guilty to two charges associated with the October 16th stop. According to records, he also pleaded not guilty to DUI charges in 2005 in a case that was dismissed with prejudice after he met the conditions of a deferral and a 1985 DUI case in which he was found guilty.
• Creepy cameraman: The creepy cameraman has posted new videos — but apparently has taken his effort away from Capitol Hill. CHS posted this account of a run-in with the privacy-obsessed videographer reported to police in September.
