Seattle Fire was on the scene on E John for clean-up after a semi truck part of the delivery process for the construction of Capitol Hill Station suffered a significant fuel leak Wednesday night.

User @happyfrosh tweeted about the incident and posted pictures including the scene above.

A single Seattle Fire unit arrived at the spill around 6:30 PM as the clean-up of the northern entrance to the Sound Transit light rail work site lasted well into the night. No injuries were reported.

With the first service slated to start in 2016 — possibly six months ahead of schedule — construction at the Broadway site between John and Denny has transitioned from tunneling and laying track to building the Capitol Hill Station structure that will serve a portion of the 100,000 daily riders projected to utilize the U-Link light rail extension between downtown and the University of Washington via Broadway. By 2030, Sound Transit expects 14,000 riders a day will board light rail at the Broadway facility.
