UPDATE 11:15 AM: Police believe they have the suspect in custody at Broadway and E Olive Way. Update x2: A bank employee has identified the man in custody as the suspect.
Original report: Police are searching for the suspect in a Broadway bank robbery Wednesday morning just before 11 AM. The incident occurred at the Chase banking outlet at Thomas and Broadway.
The suspect was described as a white male, possibly in his 60s wearing glasses and a dark green or tan jacket gray hoodie and blue jeans. The suspect was last seen leaving the bank onto Broadway, northbound.
According to updates from SPD, the suspect handed the teller a note and did not show a weapon. Police have surveillance images of the suspect to aid in the search.
CHS last reported a robbery of the same Chase outlet in February when this “orange”-tanned man with a teardrop tattoo was the suspect.
Ah, I think I recognize this guy… possibly. Is it possible for you to post this type of on-scene picture in higher resolution? Or is that a “we’d rather not” type situation?
Everyone please take notice that this criminal is *not* a black male in his 20’s. Criminals exist in all slices of the demographic pie. If you walked past this guy on the street would you racially profile him as a bank robber?
A 60 year old man robs a bank and makes no attempt to escape? Something tells me it wasn’t for the money.
