Are you done with holidays? Us too. So wtf is up with Valentine crap on the shelves already? Here are some weekend highlights to get your mind off the candy.

barcaEvery Thursday evening starting at 9pm, Barça hosts terrific live jazz performances. Everything from Charlie Parker to Charles Mingus, along with several original compositions, are performed for your aural pleasure. Pre-funk with wine tasting at Vino Verite (5 – 8pm) another great, free every-Thursday Hill event.

Sing, sing a song along with the crowd at The Best Ever Music Video Sing Along on Thursday at Central Cinema, 8pm. The selections include Madonna, Journey, Bonnie Tyler, Queen, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Spice Girls, Rick Springfield..all the way up to the best of the past year.

nwffNorthwest Film Forum reopens Friday after their holiday break with a week-long screening of A Touch of Sin (2013). A winner of the Best Screenplay prize at Cannes, this contemporary film is a “startling — and violent — modern wuxia tale of four outcasts on the margins of a rapidly changing China who channel their underclass rage into a bloody and murderous rampage.”

(Fore)Play Sex Trivia with your Saturday night date and friends at 7pm at Babeland. Bring your team of 2 – 6 players and attempt to correctly answer questions on positions, activities, and toys. Free.

playwrightsSeattle Playwrights’ Collective performs a staged reading of Two Angels, a play by D Richard Tucker. The story follows Dayla, who joins a Liberation movement in order to fight the oppressors, but quickly becomes drawn into the covert operations of the revolutionaries. Elliott Bay Book Company on Sunday at 6p.
