Since the days of President George “read my lips” Bush, Sr., politicians have known that if you repeatedly make a specific campaign promise, you’d be wise to keep it. During last year’s campaign Mayor Ed Murray vowed to hold a neighborhood summit within 100 days of taking office, now he’s making good on that promise.

The Seattle Neighborhood Summit 2014 will be held Saturday, April 5th from 9 AM – 1 PM at the Seattle Center’s Pavilion Room. The city’s announcement describes the summit as an “opportunity for community leaders throughout the city to talk openly about how we can make Seattle better for every neighborhood.” Organizers have left the agenda and discussion points wide open, so bring your boldest Capitol Hill wish list and expect others to do the same.Screen Shot 2014-02-17 at 4.17.45 PM

You can still submit ideas for the summit here, although its not quite clear how organizers will use responses.

“I see an opportunity to improve how the city works with neighborhood and community leaders on issues from planning to the prioritization of city investments,” Murray said in a statement. “This is why I am holding a summit, so we can talk — honestly and openly,”

The summit was announced February 5th, Neighbor Appreciation Day.

At 15.00 a hr do you loose the EBT. Card and section 8 housing allowance?
If so the 15.00 a hr raise may not be worth it.
I do not see how you could live on Capitol Hill with only a 15.00 a hr income with a family.
