Man attacked by group on Capitol Hill was taunted with gay slurs

A group of three or four men beat up another man on the corner of E Pike and Belmont Ave early Monday morning after the suspects taunted the victim about his sexual orientation, according to police reports.

The victim told officers he was smoking a cigarette around 1:30 AM when the group approached him, called him a “faggot”, and then attacked him causing injuries to his head and face. The victim said he did not know the suspects.

A nearby resident initially told a 911 operator that the victim had been shot, according to police reports.

Officers did not make any arrests following the incident. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with injuries not considered life threatening. According to SPD, the department’s Bias Crimes unit will review the case.

Only “obvious” thing I glean from the story is being on the streets without minding who may be approaching is risky. Race has nothing to do with the story. (as hatefully mentioned in previous, deleted comments)

Yawn capitol hill news can’t handel the truth and because of that and there will be more attacks on women and sexual minorities by refugees in public housing. Oh Seattle tolerance has come full circle.

My understanding is that CHS does not specify the race of the perps unless it is noted in the police report. Could you please comment, Justin?

We include as much information as we can. SPD’s brief posted online did not include suspect descriptions. We have been able to review the full incident report. The victim could only provide a very limited description of the attackers and told police he had been assaulted by three to four white males. No other suspect information was provided in the report.

Hear that giant sucking sound?

It’s the property values going down the toilet. CH is just getting nasty.

yeah, well, if i were you I wouldn’t plan on “shorting” REIT’s of Capitol Hill properties, unless you’ve got money to waste.

If the property values go down on Capitol hill in the next year while the general housing market goes up.
