I first spotted the cat later identified as one Mr. Bojangles around 5:30 PM Friday on the corner of Broadway and Thomas. His swaggering cat style caught my attention and led me to believe that he was having a pretty good time and not in any real danger — so I tagged along for a minute.

He seemed legitimately drawn into the festive atmosphere that was building before the night's big show... and who can blame him really?

Straight to the stage his furry little feet carry him - could have been the glitter or disco ball, hard to say... Alas, I become curiously suspicious and set out to find his owners who I suspect will be missing him soon... and I was right, thank goodness.

I located a nearby resident who quickly claimed possession of their beloved 'Mr. Bojangles' the escape artist. Evidently Mr. B skillfully made his way past security and up to the neighborhood bar unnoticed. Again, I think many can appreciate that one.

Alas, it was time to call it a night for the famous feline who appeared ready for a nap. According to one misty-eyed patron, Jangle’s visit had been so prolific even the old timers believe him to be “the most interesting cat in the world.” Life on the Hill.

What a great idea for an article — putting a small camera on a cat’s collar (a cat who is allowed to go outdoors and frequents the Capitol Hill neighborhood) and following it through its daily adventures. Love this article. Thanks.

I would have followed him around all night but figured someone would come looking for him…plus his bar tab was getting a little big – thanks Gracie!

If you guys haven’t seen this documentary, the film makers attach cameras and tracking devices to cats in an English village and find out how big their roaming areas are. They also find many of them going through cat flaps into homes that are not their own and eating food!

Would love to see this for a cat like Mr. Bojangles.
