On the List | Cannabis march, Seattle Beer Week, transgender film fest, Mom

IMG_8655Capitol Hill should be feeling alright this weekend as Seattle Beer Week kicks off and the annual Cannabis Freedom March, yet again, starts in Volunteer Park. These and more weekend highlights, below.

  • aCannabis Freedom March: Starting at 11 AM Saturday in Volunteer Park, the annual celebration of cannabis has matured with the coming of I-502 but still manages to keep a maverick vibe as it champions the cause:
We are one of the great states in our country where a majority of voters have made cannabis legal for 21 and over. Our state’s foot is in the door, so let’s hold it open for rest of the country, and help facilitate the spread of truth and healing throughout the world!
Citizens who wish to participate in the march are to first gather in Volunteer Park on Capital Hill where the route will begin, ending in Westlake Park in downtown Seattle. There will be live music and speakers from the MJ movement and industry to be announced at both the beginning and end of the parade route.”
  • Plant Sale: While you’re at Volunteer Park, stop by Saturday’s spring plant sale benefitting the Conservatory. Sorry, no marijuana starts for sale this year.
