It’s a good year for rainbows on Capitol Hill this Pride. Last year, we were happy to find CHS Flickr Pool shutterbug Kate Clark had done our work for us, capturing 2014 rainbow flag scenes from across the Hill. We were so happy, we asked her to do it again in 2015 — and agreed to make a donation to her favorite LGBTQ nonprofit Dunshee House in thanks.
Below, you’ll find 130 Pride Rainbow-y scenes from around Capitol Hill. Kate apologizes for not making it around to every corner of Capitol Hill and invites you to lend a hand by sharing pictures of the many flags we didn’t get to. You can post links in comments, send images to CHS, or add them to the Flickr Pool.
UPDATE: It’s also a good year for Supreme Court rulings:
The Supreme Court ruled on Friday that the U.S. Constitution provides same-sex couples the right to marry in a historic triumph for the American gay rights movement.
The court ruled 5-4 that the Constitution’s guarantees of due process and equal protection under the law mean that states cannot ban same-sex marriages. With the ruling, gay marriage will become legal in all 50 states.
Mayor Ed Murray will attend a celebration rally at Seattle’s federal courthouse Friday afternoon, according to a statement from his office.
