On the List | Sherlock Seattle Convention, Children’s Film Fest, Tiny House Village housewarming

You can do good and meet the neighbors this week at events on and around Capitol Hill.

Saturday, bring goods to donate, meet the new residents at the joint Low Income Housing Institute and Nickelsville project, and tour the Union Street Tiny House Village:

Union Street Tiny House Village Housewarming Party
Come celebrate the opening of the new Tiny House Village in the Central Area!

Saturday, January 23rd

2:00pm – 4:00pm Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd 2116 E Union St, Seattle, WA 98122

CHS wrote here about the 30-resident, “tiny house” encampment at 22nd and Union.

Speaking of meeting neighbors, don’t forget the Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce’s beer and wine social Thursday night. CHS will be there :)

The 11th annual Children’s Film Festival Seattle begins at 12th Ave’s Northwest Film Forum. This year’s festival will bring together more than 165 international children’s films from 40 countries for a week of screenings on 12th Ave before hitting the road for screenings in other cities. Friday night’s PJ party and Saturday’s pancake breakfast are highlights.

The 2016 Sherlock Seattle Mini-Convention will bring fans of the detective to the Broadway Performance Hall:

This event celebrates all the myriad forms of Sherlock Holmes and will feature the Diogenes Club as a social and gaming space, our ever popular Artists Alley/Dealers Row, Special Guests and Events, Roundtable Discussions, Screenings, Video Shows and more!

Meanwhile, Saturday night brings another way to say goodbye as the kids from School of Rock perform Bowie at Chop Suey.

For more events on and around Capitol Hill or to add your own, check out the CHS Calendar.
