Police search for stolen car after 18th/John pistol-whip robbery

Police searched the streets around 18th and John Wednesday night after a reported pistol-whip robbery.

According to East Precinct radio dispatches, the victim was struck in the head and robbed by a suspect described as a black male wearing a “red metallic shirt,” red pants, and a hat just before 8 PM. He and a group of three to four accomplices fled in a dark blue Chevy, headed westbound on E Denny Way.

A check of the license plate revealed the vehicle is listed as stolen. Several police units searched the area but there were no immediate arrests.

We do not know the severity of injuries suffered by the victim but Seattle Fire was not called to the scene.

Yikes, that sucks. Those blocks normally seem very safe…I walk through there every night well past 8pm and it feels very “suburban” …people walking their dogs, Trader Joe’s bags of groceries, etc.

“A check of the license plate revealed the vehicle is listed as stolen.”

Does that mean this was already a stolen car?
