East Precinct officers were checking schools around Capitol Hill Wednesday afternoon after what Seattle Police is calling “hoax robo-calls” caused concern at educational facilities across Seattle.

Police said the threats came in simultaneous calls at schools across the city. According to police radio, the calls were reported sometime after 2 PM and that shots “were possibly heard” on the recording.
Seattle Public Schools says Ballard, Garfield, Roosevelt, Nathan Hale, and Ingraham high schools were dismissed but after school activities continue. East Precinct officers also checked in on private schools including Seattle Academy and O’Dea. “We can confirm that five of our high schools received what Seattle Police is calling a hoax ‘robo-call’ this afternoon,” SPS said in a statement.
