A group struggled to hold down a man armed with a knife until police could arrive to take him into custody Saturday night on E Pine.

According to the SPD report on the incident and East Precinct radio dispatches, police rushed to the area after a report that a male suspect had attempted to stab another man in a confrontation near Pine and Belmont. The suspect with the knife was threatening to kill the victim he attacked before being wrestled to the ground by others at the scene.

  1. It was quite courageous of the group to do what they did…..they could easily have been injured by the knife. In doing so, they may have saved someone’s life.
