  • QFC hold-up: A man arrested after robberies at a West Seattle bank and pharmacy is also a suspect in a Saturday morning hold-up at a Capitol Hill QFC, the West Seattle Blog reports. WSB says the 48-year-old suspect was arrested and booked into jail this week following the spree. In the Capitol Hill incident, a male suspect robbed the Broadway Market QFC in the 400 block of Broadway E Saturday just before 9:30 AM. According to the police report on the incident, the suspect held up a cashier by implying he had a gun before fleeing the store and jumping in a cab to escape arriving police.
  • Pedestrian struck: A pedestrian was reportedly struck and injured by a driver on Pine at Belmont Tuesday night but information on the incident is limited. Seattle Fire said that one person was transported to the hospital from the scene but there was no information available on the extent of their injuries. The initial reports from the scene is that the injuries were not life threatening. Police had Pine closed at the intersection during the response starting around 10:10 Tuesday night.   • Street robberies: There’s been an uptick in street robberies and phone and purse grabs in recent weeks. In addition to the two phone grabs we reported here, a woman reported that she was assaulted by a group that attempted to steal her purse in an incident just before 11 PM last Thursday at E Denny and Boylston:

  • Car keying assault: In a Sunday afternoon, July 31st incident, a woman was arrested for assault and property destruction after witnesses said she keyed a car that stopped too far into the crosswalk at E Olive Way and Melrose:Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 6.21.14 AMBut that wasn’t the worse part, according to police. The suspect also allegedly keyed the car’s driver after he stopped to confront her even as the woman reportedly screamed she was being attacked:Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 6.21.44 AM“Based on the damage, injuries, and the fact that XXX began the incident; XXX was arrested for misdemeanor Assault and Property Destruction,” the reporting officer wrote.
  • Church burglar: A man who claimed to be pondering his crime as he was caught in the act was arrested for breaking into a 1700 Harvard Ave church early on the morning of Saturday, July 23rd. According to the report on the incident, the man said he had entered the church because he was hungry and homeless and that a friend needed clothing and medical supplies. The suspect reportedly said he was in the church “for a long period of time and was debating if he actually wanted to steal things from the XXX when he was caught,” according to police.
  • The suspect in a Sunday, July 24th break-in that surprised two Airbnb guests inside a 500 block Melrose Ave E residence was caught thanks to observant East Precinct officers — and the suspect’s green hat. According to the report on the arrest, the Airbnb guests got a surprise visitor:Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 7.12.41 AMAccording to the SPD report, officers recognized the suspect from a photo and found him hanging out nearby — along with a green hat clearly seen in the pictures taken by the guests.The suspect offered up a lame alibi — and was subsequently arrested:Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 7.13.21 AM
  • Madison Valley murder case: There have been no updates from police in the murder investigation of 51-year-old Trina Bolar, the woman found shot to death Tuesesday morning inside her Madison Valley home.
