CHS met Esther, an 8-year-old “basic combo platter” of a dog and her human Leslie in front of Sizzle Pie as they walked around their neighborhood. Esther, who may be part beagle, was rescued from a shelter in San Francisco. You might find Esther deep in a pile of leaves or searching under the bushes because she has a nose for tennis balls and “can find them anywhere in the city”

We ask photographer Alex Garland to follow marchers in the rain and do crazy things like trying to make yet another picture of yet another huge apartment building look interesting.
