What’s on the menu at six Capitol Hill Thanksgiving feasts

The Urban Turkey

Enjoy your holiday with the people you love the most: your friends and the friendly food+drink folks around Capitol Hill. Here is what is on the menu at these six Capitol Hill and nearby Thanksgiving feasts this year. As of Monday afternoon, each still had a seat open for you and yours.

  • Vermillion’s 8th Annual Thanksgiving Potluck is what you make it. From 6 to 9 PM Wednesday, the 11th Ave art lounge turns into your Capitol Hill family home…. with a bar:

Now, more than ever, we need to come together and share what we are thankful for. Vermillion has a pre-Thanksgiving dinner/pot luck every year on the day before Thanksgiving and all are welcome. Please bring a dish to share and/or a small monetary donation ($5-$10), though no one will be turned away. Please join us for our 8th annual celebration. You can mention what you are bringing in the comments below. Anything is acceptable – casseroles, salads, chips, crudité, desserts – but don’t break your budget. We will provide the turkey and some side dishes. Things like mashed potatoes go quickly. Hope to see you here.

  • A Capitol Hill classic Thanksgiving. Julia’s on Broadway has been making a family of the neighborhood since right around the landing on Plymouth Rock. You’ll get turkey, stuffing, and all the fixin’s (plus the much-loved “vegetarian options”) in, yes, buffet style. Make a reservation.
  • Get fancy on First Hill. The Sorrento’s revamped restaurant the Dunbar Room is serving a Thanksgiving feast with “traditional sage roast turkey breast.” Reservations required.
  • Jimmy’s on Broadway keeps it real with its “famous traditional home style turkey dinner” starting at 11 AM. Reserve your spot here.
  • Vegan pilgrims can again delight in Plum Bistro’s annual Thanksgiving feast that goes way beyond Tofurky. Reservations required.
  • Lost Lake is again rolling out its #FULLThanksgiving dinner from 10 AM to 10 PM. We want to hang out with you someday if you’re a 10 AM Thanksgiving feaster. Enjoy either the #Turkey, #Ham, or #Vegetarian dinner. Enjoy pie. Enjoy brussels sprouts with pecans and parmesan. Enjoy pumpkin pie. Reservations not required.
  • Big Mario’s will be there for the late night Turkey Day shift starting at 9 PM:
    To eat:
-Turkey Trot Pie with Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and gravy.
-The Thanksveggie with Stuffing, Cranberry sauce, and vegetarian gravy.
-Dessert Pizza with Sweet potato and marshmallows with olive oil base.
    To Drink:
Pumpkin Toddy with Whiskey, pumpkin liquor, all spice dram, served hot with whipped cream.
