Your very own 2018 Capitol Hill Block Party

You can view the full Night Out 2018 map here

Tuesday brings the annual Night Out celebrations to neighborhoods and blocks across Seattle.

The official event is about public safety and policing but the unofficial part of the party is the best. It’s an excuse to hold a neighborhood gathering and meet the people who live around you.

It’s too late to add your ‘hood’s party to the city’s map but it’s most definitely not too late to make sure your block is part of the fun. Apartment folks, come down and invade the sidewalks and the parking strips.

If you’re looking for a party to join, everyone is welcome at the Capitol Hill Tool Library Night Out party for “a night of games and fun.” Organizers will have some party chow (“while supplies last”). You can also bring a side to share.

There’s so little marketing about this, i always completely forget until it’s the day before OR day of the event. There are inexpensive grassroots ways to market this, and all the 50-70 year old hippies like myself could remember and plan a gathering. Until then, i’ll mark my calendar for the first Tuesday in August for next year :)
