  • Pike/Pine jewelry robbery: A Pike/Pine nightlife reveler reported some $5,000 in gold chains were ripped from his neck as he sat waiting for his group’s Uber to depart from 10th and Pine in a robbery reported around 1 AM last Friday morning. According to the SPD report on the incident, the victim was beaten after he and his friends raced from the car to try to chase down the woman who grabbed the chains from his neck as he sat in the vehicle. The victim told police his group ran into a group of males who suddenly emerged from the Broadway parking lot where the thief fled. The groups fought, separated, and then fought again until pepper spray was deployed and the reported assailants fled in a blue 2008 BMW 328i. The victim described the suspect as a “heavyset” black female in her 20s, wearing a black hoodie and jeans. She was last seen northbound on Broadway. Police searched the area but there were no arrests and the jewelry was not recovered.
  • Harvard robbery reported: Police were called to investigate an armed street robbery reported early Sunday morning in the 1800 block of Harvard but the victim decided she didn’t want to cooperate with police. According to East Precinct radio dispatches, police were waved down about the robbery involving a group of young males around 3:35 AM but the victim changed her mind and declined to talk with arriving officers. There were no reported injuries.
  • Amazon van-jacking update: New information in the SPD report on the September 5th carjacking of an Amazon delivery van on Capitol Hill clarifies the location of where it went down and reveals that the ripoff appears to have been a targeted heist.According to the report, the suspect wore a green motorcycle helmet to cover his face as he attacked the driver from behind in the 200 block of 10th Ave E, smashing him in the back of the head before leaping into the van and speeding away.

According to the report, Amazon valued the loss at $30,386 but it’s not clear if that included any packages stolen with the van.

As of last week, the vehicle had yet to be recovered, according to Seattle Police.
