Police search for pink purse bandit after First Hill credit union hold-ups — UPDATE

Not the suspect’s purse

With the suspect’s reported get-up, you wouldn’t think they would get far but for the second day in a row, a First Hill bank has been robbed by a bandit with a fantastic outfit.

Seattle Police were called to the bank in the 1100 block of Madison Tuesday afternoon just after 4:15 PM to a report of a robbery involving a suspect described as a person in their 60s wearing a scarf, a cardigan over a striped dress, and carrying a pink purse.

The suspect also reportedly had a teardrop tattoo near their eye.

A suspect with a similar description reportedly hit the Sound Credit Union Monday in a reported armed robbery. Monday, they were reported wearing a white and green head scarf and “winter gloves.”

Police were searching the area around the credit union Tuesday afternoon as a K9 unit attempted to track the suspect.

There were no reported injuries.

UPDATE 5/3/2019: The FBI says its regional task force is investigating the two robberies. The first incident was reported as an armed hold-up but the second was reported as a “bodily force” hold-up. It’s not clear if a weapon was used during either robbery and the FBI says it can provide no additional information at this time.

“The FBI Sound Regional Violent Crimes Task Force is investigating the Sound Credit Union robberies on April 29, 2019 and April 30, 2019 in the 1100 block of Madison Street in Seattle. There is no current threat to public safety. As the investigation is ongoing, no additional information is currently available.”

Were they robbing the bank itself? If so, any mention of how much cash they made off with?
