Pride is in full swing, and although we’ll have to wait until June 30 for the city’s 45th annual Seattle Pride Parade, there’s plenty to do in the meantime. A portion of the ticket sales for More Than Just Beer: PRIDE in Craft at The Riveter and PRIDE in Education at Queer/Bar will benefit Lambert House, a local community center for LGBTQ+ youth.

Other events to look out for include the QTPOC June Social get together at Mezcaleria Oaxaca’s Hill location, as well as a Planning Committee Meeting for PNW Black Pride at Gay City. And, of course, the Volunteer Park Pride Festival this Saturday. THURSDAY, June 6 : Zine culture is alive and well in Seattle. HAIR FLIP, a new local art and comics quarterly (formerly printed under the name Thick as Thieves) celebrates new beginnings at Fred Wildlife Refuge with a party and fundraiser. Bands Great Spiders, Familiars, and DJ SICK SID will provide the soundtrack for zine-browsing at tables from artists like Max Clotfelter and James Stanton, and underground art and comics hub Push/Pull as well as a raffle featuring cameras, light boxes, Kindles and mystery packages from sex toy and accessories retailer Babeland. FRIDAY, June 7: As print media is slowly and begrudgingly drawing its last breaths, magazines are reinvented as traveling exhibits, fancy one-offs and sponsored glossies that look good on coffee tables and/or Instagram stories. One of these new magazines, RELISH, described as “a destination-based, submission-fueled and sponsor-driven art program” now arrives in Seattle with a “design-forward” journal full of work by 30+ local creatives such as Anthony White, Brandon Vosika, Electric Coffin, and Mary Coss, as well as an art show in the 9th & Thomas building, opening with a party this Friday. 9th and Thomas, 234 9th Ave N, 5 PM

FRIDAY, June 7 – SATURDAY, June 22: Seattle’s International Film Festival isn’t even over, and here’s another international festival, dedicated to dance. Many performances of Seattle International Dance Festival take place on the Hill, including the “Inter|National Series” featuring dance companies and artists from Italy, Ireland, India and Germany, as well as local dance performances in the “Spotlight on Seattle” series. In case you missed “DITCH,” the colorful, femme, queer and feminist performance and immersive installation by Cherdonna Shinatra and her newly formed dance company DONNA at the Frye Museum, don’t despair. Seize your chance for a redo and a way to support Cherdonna and DONNA’s second season during Cherdonna’s Hard Ca$h Cabaret. The cabaret involves a live auction, specialty cocktails by OOLA distillery and performances by Cherdonna, DONNA, and other guests. The Factory, doors at 7 PM, show at 8 PM.

SATURDAY, June 8 : Since its beginnings in 2010, the annual Volunteer Park Pride Festival has grown into one of the city’s largest all-ages and free music parties, this year emceed by drag queen Betty Wetter. On the excellent line-up: the four-year-old, all-female rock band Thunderpussy, “electronic psychedelic soul” and “hologram funk goddess” Sassyblack, glittery pop performer J GRGRY, singer-songwriter Whitney Mongé and introspective pop artist Left at London. Also at the festival: a beer garden, food trucks, a craft fair, and many informational booths. Volunteer Park, 12 PM – 7 PM

Poorly chosen name or genius acronym-marketing? Decide for yourself: POOPU stands for Properly Organized and Orderly Pop Up, a one-afternoon craft market curated by friends Shaana Hatamian, Sarah Chu, and Julia Kernerman “looking to launch a million “that’s so cool where did you get that??’s.” They’ve brought together a great selection of wares, such as glassware and unique reusable straws from Bellingham-based Asp & Hand, jewelry from Cosmic Twin, ceramics from Shannon Hobbs as well as apparel and textiles by Sarah Chu (Sei Shop) and Shaana Hatamian. 1216 10th AVE, 12 PM – 5 PM

SUNDAY, June 9: An Afternoon of Sun and Stone is the annual pop-up sculpture showcase, picnic, and sale from the Northwest Stone Sculptors Association. This year’s gathering again takes place at Volunteer Park, 12 PM – 4 PM
