A Seattle creative entrepreneur who got her start with an Etsy “side hustle” has chosen Capitol Hill for a new home to showcase her retail creations.

Seattle jewelry and luxury goods brand Fresh Tangerine has opened its second shop on E Pine in the Odd Fellows Building next door to Molly Moon’s. It will celebrate its grand opening Thursday.

“Fresh Tangerine is known for its delicate designs, unexpected details and affordable quality,” the announcement of the new shop reads. “Their selection includes hand-forged stacker rings, earrings, bracelets, geometric necklaces, and more.”

The company is the creation of Kim Kogane who started her business as an online Etsy shop “with just a few strands of beads and an ambitious dream.” In 2013, she opened her studio in Pioneer Square where her jewelry was handcrafted and sold online and in stores across the country. She opened her first brick and mortar shop below the studio four years later.

A former Capitol Hill resident, Kogane’s new location expands the woman-owned, Seattle-made jewelry store’s presence in her home city and adds to a growing community of fashion and retail shops around Pike/Pine and on the Odd Fellows building block. Just around the corner, French luxury eyewear Anne and Valentin are also adding to the Pike/Pine shopping milieu.

Fresh Tangerine replaces arrangement and plant shop Isla House and Flower which is headed for a new location.

The jewelry company will celebrate its new Capitol Hill location with a grand opening party Thursday, June 20th from 6 to 8 PM.

Fresh Tangerine is located at 919 E Pine. Hours are noon to 7 PM daily. You can learn more at freshtangerine.com.
