Small group of right-wing protesters met by larger counter-protest in Cal Anderson

A small group of right-wing protesters was met with a larger police presence and counter-protest in a permitted rally and march from Cal Anderson early Sunday evening.

A small handful of protesters gathered behind police-constructed barriers in the park Sunday afternoon in a “liberty” event promoted in recent weeks on social media. Police and counter-protesters outnumbered participants, according to reports from the scene.

The small group marched on Broadway and down Pike/Pine before dispersing. There were no reported arrests and no reported significant injuries during the event.

Yep, even here in liberal Seattle we are no safe from racists and crazies that want to see Trump be president for life. We just need to stay safe and love our families.

“Right wing protesters” don’t wear masks and throw rocks. I think we’re going to survive.

“The Issue

Right-wing extremism in the United States appears to be growing. The number of terrorist attacks by far-right perpetrators rose over the past decade, more than quadrupling between 2016 and 2017. The recent pipe bombs and the October 27, 2018, synagogue attack in Pittsburgh are symptomatic of this trend. U.S. federal and local agencies need to quickly double down to counter this threat. There has also been a rise in far-right attacks in Europe, jumping 43 percent between 2016 and 2017.”

No, they shoot people and run them over with cars. Granted, there are some wackos on the left and I agree they should at least lose the masks. But white supremacists have no peer when it comes to violence.

I guess I can’t fathom what they’re angry about. The right wing controls 2.5 chambers of the Federal Government.

They’re mad that liberals also have the right to free speech and have the nerve to criticize them on social media. That’s all I can think of, because you’re right.

You’re right Louise, they just drive their cars into crowds, beat LGBTQ+ folks into a bloody pulp and advocate for mass genocide for anyone that doesn’t look like them. You all sound like very fine people but you will be outnumbered every single time.

It’s a free country, they have a right to express their beliefs, even if those beliefs are incredibly stupid and wrong… and I have a right to laugh at them while they’re doing it!

Their goal is to get someone to punch them or something so they can start violence while claiming self-defense. The Neo Nazi’s at the Detroit Pride Parade were all wearing GoPros and had lawyers with them for this exact reason.

It’s best to ignore them, or just show up and laugh.

Imagine how boring their childish little foot public stompings would be, if everyone just ignored them and didn’t show up, and deprived them of the attention they crave? Imagine.
“If a tree falls in the forest, and NOBODY HEARS IT– is there sound?”
