Capitol Hill Community Post | Añejo Restaurant and Tequila Bar Celebrates One Year

From Añejo Restaurant and Tequila Bar

Añejo Restaurant and Tequila Bar recently celebrated its first anniversary on Capitol Hill bringing Jalisco-style cuisine to its neighbors along with the best margaritas available on the Hill. Owner Edgar Pelayo brought his love for Mexican cuisine, along with his passion for tacos and tequila to Seattle in grand style with Añejo making a name for itself with locals through its authentic, scratch-made food. The menu features a variety of classic dishes including Tacos and Tortas, Carne Asada with House-made Chorizo and Grilled Cactus, Michoacán-style Rib Eye Steak, and what is quite possibly the best Queso in town! In addition, Añejo makes all its salsas fresh daily along with an outstanding taco sauce made from chile de árbol.

Over the past year, Añejo has quietly curated one of Seattle’s most diverse lists of Mexican spirts and craft margaritas. A wide variety of over 100 different tequilas and mezcals are available with many hard to find bottlings included in the ever-expanding list. The cocktail program includes  many rare and esoteric offerings such as the smoky Sotol and earthy, vegetal Raicilla made from the piña of the maguey or century plant from producers such as La Venenosa.

Añejo also celebrates one year with many new nightly specials which include the ubiquitous Taco Tuesdays where you can get Three tacos and a Tecate tallboy for $10 as well as Tequila Thursdays where all tequila shots are 50% off. Finally, Añejo offers up brunch every weekend replete with Mexican benedicts, Omelets, Bottomless Mimosas, and multiple screens for the Hawks games.

Añejo kicks off its second year with plans to expand its cocktail program bringing in even more tequilas, mescals and other Mexican spirits. With a wide variety of creative craft margaritas, it aims to be the spot on Capitol Hill to enjoy delicious, authentic Mexican food, share a drink or two, and watch the game with friends and family. Come for the tacos, stay for the tequila!
