The new Hugo House and its literary complex can now offer its authors and poets nourishment beyond the written word.

“Contemporary fast casual Korean” Oma Bap’s second restaurant is now open on 11th Ave next to the literary center below its mixed-use neighbors and across from Cal Anderson Park.

CHS reported back in January on the plan for the new Oma Bap to take the restaurant suite adjacent the street level, 10,000 square-foot literary center. Owner Peter Pak said his original12th Ave location couldn’t keep up with demand on the catering business end of things and having a sister restaurant with a more robust kitchen not far away would be a big plus for his business.

The new Oma Bap is open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 AM to -9 PM and Friday and Saturday 11:30 AM to 10 PM giving the area a likely warmly welcomed new lunch option. The commercial presence along with the new Hugo House also will bring more activity to 11th Ave and the east side of the park.

Oma Bap is located at 1640 11th Ave and at 12th and Cherry. You can learn more at omabap.com.
