Capitol Hill Community Post | mama Restaurant Group’s mamnoon Gets Ready for an Event Filled End of 2019

From Mamnoon

Seattle-based mama restaurant group is thrilled to announce that they will be celebrating mamnoon’s Seven-Year Anniversary on Thursday, November 21 boasting a lineup of all-day food specials and owner Wassef Haroun mixing tracks as djwawa alongside DJ Dana Dub. With the season of giving in mind, mama is seeking to not only celebrate their achievement of seven fulfilling years but believe it is just as important to give back to the city that mama calls home.

Amidst the festivities on November 21, mamnoon will be giving guests the opportunity to give back to the Plymouth Housing Organization of Seattle in a form of a text code available the day of the event. The Harouns have always associated their anniversary with a giving program and charity of their choice, most often raising awareness and contributions to a cause very near and dear to their hearts: Syrian Refugees. This year they have decided to focus their giving program on helping the local homeless crisis.

Plymouth Housing follows the Housing First philosophy, operating on the principle that people cannot improve their lives until they have a safe, stable place to live. Working to eliminate homelessness and address its causes by preserving, developing and operating safe and quality housing, Plymouth provides adults experiencing homelessness with opportunities to stabilize their lives.

In addition to our collaboration for greater good efforts for mamnoon’s Seven-Year Anniversary, owner Haroun will also be participating in Plymouth Housing’s Seattle Dances: An Evening of Glitz and Glamour for a Great Cause. In the style of the popular TV show, Dancing with the Stars, nine local luminaries will pair up with professional instructors from the Century Ballroom for a LIVE dance competition. This event will take place on March 7, 2020. More information on this to be available soon.

Says mamnoon General Manager Jen Kligerman, “We are delighted to say that we have been in Capitol Hill for seven years now, and can’t think of a better way to celebrate this time than supporting the neighborhood we call home. Plymouth Housing does incredible work for this humbling cause that we feel inspired to get their word out there. We can’t think of a better way to throw a party than doing it for a greater good, all while serving up mama group’s signature, a memorable evening.”

In addition to their Seven-Year Anniversary, mamnoon is excited to share they will be open on Christmas Eve this year with the hope of bringing families together while having a warm and unique dining experience over the holidays.Says Executive Chef Carrie Mashaney, “Without having any extended family here in Seattle to celebrate Christmas with, I often look for a nice place to go for dinner on Christmas Eve without much luck.  I am very excited to open mamnoon’s kitchen to friends, family and the community to enjoy a beautiful night of the gathering, eating and drinking.”
