Seattle Police are investigating after a shootout involving a dispute in the street and multiple vehicles spread shell casings but left no injuries along MLK near the Central District’s Powell Barnett Park Thursday afternoon.
According to East Precinct radio updates, multiple 911 callers reported the gun battle just after 1 PM Thursday near the north end of the park.
A caller reported one shooter opened fire on the occupants of a vehicle near the park before fleeing the area in a GMC Yukon.
Spent shell casings were found near MLK and Jefferson and on 28 Ave E. A witness reported a driver of one of the vehicles was wearing a white ski mask during the shootout.
The park was busy and full of children and families at the time.
At least one parked vehicle in the area was struck but there were no reported injuries in the incident.
