A Black Lives Matter march for essential workers part of “Black Friday” protests across Seattle ended with arrests Friday night at Denny and E Olive Way on Capitol Hill.
A group marching through the neighborhood was reported blocking traffic and had been given dispersal orders, Seattle Police said.

Police say two people were arrested and booked into jail for failure to disperse, obstructing, resisting arrest, and property damage and a third was arrested for assault on a police officer.

Seattle Fire was called to the East Fire shortly after the arrests around 8 PM to a report of one of the arrested suffering a medical complaint that did not require hospitalization.
The march including organizers from Morning March Seattle was part of a day of rallies and protests around the city including demonstrations in the U District and at the Amazon spheres.
It comes as smaller demonstrations have continued after a long season of protest centered around Cal Anderson, the East Precinct, and Capitol Hill.

Nikkita Oliver is an essential worker now? Are all lawyers essential workers or just Nikkita?

Thank god she was not elected Mayor.
Those in the streets holding government accountable are the essential workers if you read that correctly.
Last I checked, people were still getting arrested, summoned, sued, divorced, etc. That makes lawyers essential workers, like them or not.
So the flyer says: “Bring notes, flowers and gratitude for essential workers” – and instead they block streets and smash things? Eventually we can start pointing out that legitimate protests happen in the day hours for people who want change and draw support to their cause . . . And the fools are those left at night with umbrellas and a “smash mentality”.
Radical redistribution of resources and political power. Hmm. OK, whatever you say.

Are they going to march for the essential social worker killed by a mentally ill person? The exact same people they think are going to “change” the way we respond to crisis? Or are they just going to say ACAB and 40-50% go back to Renton, Kirkland and Kent.
