  • E Madison pedestrian hit: Police say a pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a driver late Thursday night on E Madison near the busy 17th Ave intersection home to the Shell station and the neighborhood’s Trader Joe’s. Seattle Fire was called to the scene around 11:18 PM where the person struck was reported down, unconscious, and bleeding from the head. Seattle Fire says the 50-year-old man was taken to Harborview in critical condition. According to SPD’s brief on the incident, the driver of the white Jeep Wrangler remained at the scene of the collision and did not show signs of impairment. Police say the person who was hit was “jaywalking” and the driver told them he could not see the pedestrian “crossing in the dark until the last second.” Speed limits on E Madison are 25 MPH — the limit used on most arterials and streets across the city.

Madrona bust: A pursuit of an armed Bellevue burglary suspect in a grey Mercedes, ended with a Madrona intersection filled with Seattle Police and SWAT early Thursday night. Witnesses reported a loud flash bang detonation and the Mercedes pinned in by police and SWAT around 7:30 PM Tuesday. Police say the man taken into custody was wanted for a burglary that occurred in Bellevue and tried to flee from police when SPD tracked him down in Seattle. According to East Precinct radio updates, there were also reported injuries at the scene involving dog bites and the K9 unit used to subdue the suspect. Police reported the suspect allegedly tried to escape again when Seattle Fire arrived to treat the injuries. SPD says a handgun could be seen inside the vehicle which was impounded by Bellevue Police pending a search warrant. The female driver was also arrested for prostitution by Bellevue PD, SPD says. After treatment at Harborview for injuries suffered in the arrest, the suspect was booked him into King County Jail.

  • Stolen gun recovered: Police say they recovered a stolen, loaded 9 MM handgun from a man arrested for harassment Saturday in an incident at the 23rd and Jackson Walgreens:

On 09-04-2021 at 1302 hours, Walgreen’s Security at 23 Av and S Jackson requested that a male sleeping on their property move along. As Security walked away from the male a citizen witness watched the male pull out a gun and point it at Walgreen’s Security as their backs were turned. The witness reported this incident to 911 as the suspect packed up and left Walgreen’s property. Responding SPD officers located the suspect approximately 5 blocks away and detained him. The suspect had outstanding warrants for Felony Escape and Burglary. Officers developed probable cause for Felony Harassment of Walgreen’s Security and placed the subject under arrest. Officers recovered a loaded 9 MM handgun from the suspect along with an illegal switchblade knife. This suspect is a convicted Felon and officers discovered that the handgun he was in possession of had been stolen in a Car Prowl last night in the West Precinct. Officers made contact with the victim of this Car Prowl to let her know that they had recovered some of her stolen property. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Felony Harassment, Investigation of Felon in Possession of a Handgun, Investigation of Possession of Stolen Property and for both of the suspect’s outstanding Felony warrants.

  • Broadway Market QFC robbery arrest: A reported armed robbery with a knife landed a man wanted for crimes including robbery, assault, and resisting arrest back in custody in an incident last Thursday night at the Broadway Market QFC:
