WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 3RD
- Ian Brennan with Larry Crane at Elliott Bay Book Company in a virtual discussion of Muse Sick: a music manifesto in fifty-nine notes.
- Dark Traffic: Joan Naviuk Kane, with Jon Davis, Rone Shavers, and Jake Skeets: Hugo House hosts a celebration of the latest work from Joan Naviuk Kane, Dark Traffic, “a book that creates landmarks through language, and in which speakers describe traumas in order to survive and move through them.”
- The Velvet Underground plays Northwest Film Forum this week with in-person screenings of the new documentary film directed and produced by Todd Haynes.
- Defend Kshama From The Right Wing Recall: Supporters can stop through Chop Suey for a drag show rally to kick off the District 3 councilmember’s campaign to defend her seat in the December recall election.
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 5TH
- Novel Nights: The Punishment She Deserves by Elizabeth George: This virtual event from Hugo House features the award-winning author and discussion about her latest work and upcoming new book.
- Shaina Shepherd: The Seattle artist performs at Capitol Hill’s St. Mark’s as part of the CATHEDRALS concert series.
- Friday Night Song Club at Cafe Racer: Celebrate 60 episodes of the Song Club Radio Hour with its first ever live show.
- AMcE Creative Arts Presents: Home & Away Opening Reception: New 19th Ave E gallery and arts space AMcE unveils its latest show. Home & Away features “emerging and established, regional and national artists with work ranging from collage, assemblage, and embroidery on found photos.”
- Novel Nights: A Song Everlasting by Ha Jin: Award-winning author Ha Jin speaks about his book, A Song Everlasting , with fellow writer Rob Arnold in a Hugo House virtual event.
- CATHEDRALS XXXIII: Over the Rhine, Katie Kuffel: Another night of CATHEDRALS brings the Seattle-based musician to St. Mark’s.
- UW Head of the Lake Regatta: The annual races feature a three-mile course, which starts in Lake Union, northeast of Gasworks Park, crosses Portage Bay, runs through the Montlake Cut and finishes in Union Bay of Lake Washington.
- Capitol Hill COVID Remembrance Project: St. Joseph Parish hosts a community memorial at the corner of 19th & Aloha in remembrance of those who died from COVID beginning with an afternoon gathering. The memorial will remain in place through the month.
- On the Wall: ‘Northwest Nikkei’ by Michelle Kumata: Visit the nearby Seattle Japanese Garden to view the Northwest Nikkei work of the Seattle artist.
