Carrying big weapons so common now. Saw a guy hanging at Cal Anderson with a big kitchen knife on a lanyard round his neck and another knife in a sheathe around his waist. The ARC Parks worker by the playfield told me, “He wouldn’t hurt anyone. It’s just defensive.” How can weapon carrying be okay in the city?

Washington State is an open carry state for fixed length blades.
In Seattle though, any fixed blade knife that is longer then 3.5in is illegal to openly carry. SMC 12A.14.080

The drug zombie apocalypse and the “progressive” policies that created it need to be reigned in. West coast cities used to be the best in the country. Now they are an embarrassment. Are the leftists trying to get Trump re-elected?

The capitalist apocalypse and the “far right” policies that created it need to be reigned in. West coast cities used to be the best in the country. Now they are an embarrassment. Are the right-wingers trying to plunge us all into poverty and drug addiction?

I am not far right nor a fan of unchecked capitalism. I agree that it needs to be reigned in, but the capitalist bogeyman is not the primary cause of the dystopian sh*tshow that is destroying Seattle. It is the stupidity of the woke left city council and city attorney that has welcomed thousands of addicts from across the country and given them the keys to the city. This is a drug crisis not a housing crisis.

These are the people and this is the behavior the people of Capitol Hill want, they literally just reaffirmed this vision of the city when they choose not to recall sawant. District 3 was given a gift in the opportunity to move the city and their neighborhoods in a different direction and the voter chose to stay the course.

They people of Capitol Hill regularly choose “the movement” over the safety and basic functionality of the city, and anyone who thinks that is going to change anytime soon is just not paying attention. This is the city district 3 wants and their goal is not to make the city a better place but to spread more encampments and the theft and violence that come with them, to the rest of the city.

The beatings (and crossbow shootings apparently) in Seattle will continue until “the movement” takes down all of global capitalism and all companies are owned by governments (or something childish like that)

The homeless have fully privatized the parks on this corner of the Hill; we pay taxes for our parks but are barred from using them. This particular crew of homeless men (where the crossbow attack occurred) keep a huge box of about 500 syringes just inside the blackberry bushes and throw the used needles further into the bushes (I reported it to the Parks, who did nothing about it). An insane, methed-out man screamed in my face as I walked my dog along the walking/cycling trail in broad daylight and another one tried to attack my 75-yo neighbor a few nights ago. It’s a dystopian war zone over here and the city won’t lift a finger to help. And now there’s a crossbow murderer loose in the neighborhood.

Yeah, I don’t use that trail much anymore, it’s a mess. Often they’ll be barbecuing right in the middle of trail. You can see the remains of several trees they’ve burned down.

There’s also nothing blocking cars from driving on it. Sometimes they’ll have a car parked right in the middle of the bike trail doing supply runs or whatever.

I haven’t experienced any aggressive behavior from them, but with all the drug use, I doubt it’s uncommon.
