A man was shot multiple times in the back of the head in a fight aboard a Metro bus on Broadway Tuesday night.

Fortunately for the victim, the assailant was armed only with a pellet gun.

Seattle Police and Seattle Fire were called to the reported shooting in the 1500 block of Broadway just north of Pine around 11 PM.

SPD said arriving officers at the bus fight found the victim who told police had been shot. Officers quickly determined the assault had been an airgun attack. Seattle Fire treated the victim for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect who fled the scene was found nearby by police, medically evaluated for injuries suffered in the fight, and booked into King County Jail for felony assault.

Broadway was closed to traffic in both directions during the response.
