Have thoughts on Seattle’s transportation needs and priorities? City Hall has launched a new Seattle Transportation Plan Online Engagement Hub where residents can “take a new survey to share their transportation priorities, come to an upcoming event and tell the department what they see places for change.”

You can visit the hub here.

The effort comes as city leaders set out to shape the next Seattle Transportation Plan for the city, the high level, 20-year planning process used to prioritize and shape street and sidewalk projects.

SDOT is on the hook to publish the draft plan by spring 2023.

“The STP is an opportunity for everyone to imagine how they want to move around the city in the future,” SDOT’s announcement of the new hub reads. “The STP will guide local transportation investments for the next 20 years.”

It isn’t clear how officials will ultimately prioritize feedback including already hundreds of street by street, curb by curb suggestions submitted to the hub.

“Quite a mess of a 4-way stop. Drivers consistently roll the stop (illegal and unsafe) and do not yield to pedestrians,” reads one granular piece of feedback regarding 15th and Aloha.

A broader piece of feedback submitted 10 days ago about Broadway could apply across the city. “Is this a bus stop or a DoorDash pick up zone?,” it reads. “The northbound Route 49 stop at Broadway & E Harrison St could use some love and attention to stand out to declare: I am a bus stop.”

SDOT is also planning in-person and virtual events for further “engagement opportunities.”

Planners say the feedback will be collected through summer and presented starting this fall as the draft plan is shaped. The final plan is expected by the summer of 2023.

The northbound Route 49 stop at Broadway & E Harrison St could use some love and attention to stand out to declare: I am a bus stop.

As if it being an obvious bus stop ever stopped DoorDash, Lyft, Uber, etc from abusing them without regard for anyone else
