One reported dead in E Fir shooting

A man was reported dead in an early Friday morning shooting in an alley off E Fir.

Seattle Police said they had responded to a shooting and that at least one person was wounded.

Multiple 911 callers reported gunfire around 4:30 AM and officers arriving at the scene found the victim down and shot in the chest and without a pulse in the alley near 11th and E Fir, according to East Precinct radio updates.

According to radio reports, witnesses said the shooting involved multiple vehicles including a tow truck. Police also found evidence at a second shooting scene nearby. Police also found a crash scene where a part from the tow truck had been left behind.

Seattle Fire responded to the scene to treat at least one possible additional victim reported shot in the arm.

UPDATE: Seattle Fire has provided details on the injured: “Crews attempted lifesaving efforts for an 27-year-old male but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. They also treated a 52-year-old male who is in stable condition. Paramedics transported him to Harborview.”

Police found the white tow truck reported involved in the shooting at the scene and were searching the area for other vehicles possibly involved in the incident reported by witnesses.

SPD says the tow truck had been reported stolen.

This crazy stuff continues unabated, but at least we have those new four way stop signs installed on Pine Street. I feel so much safer.

Safety has always been an illusion. It’s how you understand it’s breadth and depth as an adult that matters.

What on earth does one have to do with the other? Are we not allowed to save pedestrian’s lives AND abate shootings?

I am saying we put the emphasis on safety in the wrong place. To me, the rampant shootings are the larger problem and should receive more attention. The stop signs, well, not so much.

Your average blog troll can barely handle thinking of solving one problem, let alone multiple.
