We just heard on the scanner that someone was taking pot shots with a BB gun at a woman as she walked up Howell near Boylston.
An officer just said that he spoke to a resident who said that a man “had been doing this for several days, popping off BB shots through a window” on the fourth third floor of the apartment building at 1816 Boylston Ave.
Officers found damage to vehicles parked in the area too. They’re blocking off all the surrounding streets and discussing the best ways to access the area while staying outside the “field of fire”.
Update: Officer advises that “rounds are being fired.” “Get inside! We’ve got a man with a gun on the third floor.”
Update x2: “Suspect on the balcony. He dropped the gun off the balcony. We are giving him commands. We’ve got eyes on him and a rifle officer that is covering him right now.” “Suspect is coming out the window”
Update x3: “Suspect is in custody, the apartment has been cleared.” Police are going to re-open the streets once they verify that everyone is OK and accounted for.

I live across that apartment and was walking home from SCCC when I noticed all the police cars. I knew whatever happened was over because they were getting rid of the caution tapes. I have a bunch of heavy school stuff and was going to drop it off before I go outside to ask. Decided to check this blog first to get the scoop…and here it is. My roommate was online checking King5 and Komo, but no info about this. Thanks neighbors!!!
Which one of my neighbors lost it and started shooting at by-standers with a BB?!
Also, Google’s wrong – 1816 is on the other side of the street and a few buildings over.
Yeah, turn 180 degrees and move down. it’s a tall white building with a blue/grey canopy.
Would it not be prudent for concerned citizens to post flyers around this building notifying people that a crazy person who shoots at people on the street with a gun lives here? Just for safety?
