Q: Even though the Biltmore (at Loretta and Olive) claims to have studios that are the “largest on the hill”, is the BUILDING the largest on the hill? Let’s assume that “largeness” is based on square footage.
A: No! Denny Terrace, the Seattle Public Housing building at Melrose and Denny, boasts 222 units and 139,127 total square feet — by far, the largest on the hill. The Biltmore, on the other hand, has 125 units and 95,611 square feet, which makes it the largest non-public housing apartment building.
Wow, when I moved into the Biltmore back in…the mid-90s, I guess, my studio rented for $435. They’ve got some large prices to go with those large studios.
I’ll be damned. There you are. it’s MvB!
