Thursday morning, bright and early, I joined a few neighbors to raise funds for Jubilee Women’s Center. Jubilee was founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, 25 years ago. The transitional home for homeless women is located right here in Capitol Hill. Over 600 people attended the event – and together we raised over $200k. A few of us had trouble getting up so early, but it was well worth it – to hear the stories of the residents. The photo to the left shows the basket that each (of the 60 women served annually) receives upon entering Jubilee.
I had a great time helping out and was overwhelmed with the number of people that showed their support. Thanks for being a table captain!
