“Tagging” License Plates?

In 2 days, I have seen at least 8 license plates with a black slash of spray paint in the upper right corner, covering the month/year tab stickers.  Most of these cars were parked near Group Health (not that one should make an association with the hospital, just citing location) and one was driving by.  Have you seen any cars with this mark?  Any thoughts on what/who is doing it?  I doubt the state department is marking cars with expired tabs.

possibly be the work of the same “toy” writer who vandalized the garage door on E John. On the scale of merit, both are in the triple-digit negative.

I don’t think it’s the same “artist”, it doesn’t look like a “tag” in the way of other taggers, more like someone marking the plates. I’ll try to grab a photo this afternoon.

I drove around with expired tabs for over a year (within good reason, but it’s a long story). I got pulled over once for it and also got numerous tickets from meter maids but never was my plate “tagged”…

I sometimes fantasize that taggers should be executed on the spot.

Perhaps your fantasy includes painting them to death a la Goldfinger….

I have totally seen this on cars all over the hill. Odd.

It’s a $100+ fine for having out-of-date or missing car tabs. I imagine these mischief-makers are getting a good laugh thinking about folks getting pulled over and fined by the police.
